The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) successfully executed its fifth skilled immigration draw for the month of October. This special draw focuses on applicants with work experience in essential sectors such as tech, childcare, healthcare and other priority occupations.
On October 31, 2023, the BC PNP carried out its latest draw, during which 208 candidates received Invitations to Apply, with their scores ranging from 60 to 113.
British Columbia regularly sends Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to eligible individuals, usually on a weekly basis, although there are occasional deviations. The frequency, quantity and scheduling of future BC PNPs depend on the immediate needs of the BC PNP's application list at the time of each invitation round.

Invitations to apply within the skilled immigration streams may be issued based on one or several of the following criteria:
- • Education – level and field of education and where it was completed
- • Eligible professional designations in B.C.
- • Language skills
- • Occupation
- • Duration and skill level of work experience
- • Wage and/or skill level of job offer
- • Intent to live, work and settle in a specific region
- • Strategic priorities – factors that address specific labour market needs in B.C. or support government pilot projects and initiatives
These consecutive draws signal another important step by British Columbia in its ongoing efforts to attract international talent and graduates, aimed at boosting the province's vibrant and expanding labor market.
