IRCC Conducts Express Entry Draw 264 For Transport Sector

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently executed a new Express Entry selection.

The latest Express Entry draw, dated September 20, 2023, invited 1,000 applicants within the Transport occupation category. This marks IRCC's inaugural selection which focuses on professionals in the transportation sector, with roles including like commercial truck drivers, pilots, and aircraft assembly workers.

To qualify for this round of invitations, aspirants needed a minimum CRS score of 435.

*This invitation round is open to applicants from the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program.

If multiple candidates share the same minimum score, the tiebreaker depends on the submission date and time of their Express Entry submission.

Who qualifies for the Express Entry Transportation Occupation Sector?

To apply under the Transportation Occupation Sector, individuals must:

• Adhere to the criteria of an Express Entry pathway: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Canadian Experience Class.
• Must have at least 6 months of uninterrupted, full-time work experience over the past 3 years, in a role related to the transportation Occupation category, in Canada or abroad.
• Fulfill all the conditions mentioned for that specific draw.

The revised Express Entry mechanism now offers an optimized process for those skilled in areas highly sought-after in Canada. By prioritizing transport professionals, Canada seeks to address its growing talent needs and fill essential roles that bolster the country's economic progression.

A total of 10 professional roles with a background in transportation are considered for the Express Entry selection.

List Of Transport Occupations Category who have been invited:-

On May 31, 2023, IRCC introduced six new categories for the Express Entry round. In addition to the transportation business sector, new additional sectors include healthcare, science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, occupational roles such as woodworkers, pipefitters and general contractors, agriculture and food processing and advanced French linguistic competence.

So far, IRCC has organized seven selections using the new category-centric approach for Express Entry rounds.
