The Ministry of Immigration, Frenchisation, and Integration (MIFI) in Quebec recently carried out a fresh draw.
On July 20, 2023, the latest Quebec draw saw the issuance of invitations to a total of 1,633 applicants under the Regular Skilled Worker Program (RSWP). To be considered for this, applicants needed to achieve a score of 596 points or higher.
This draw represents the tenth such instance for Quebec's RSWP in 2023. The data extraction from the Arrima bank was done on July 17, 2023, at 6:30 in the morning.
Noteworthy Aspects of the Latest Quebec Draw:
Under section 45 of the Québec Immigration Act, decisions for inviting applicants to submit for permanent selection are available to the public. The latest Quebec draw issued invitations to 1,633 individuals who fulfilled the following criteria:
They demonstrated a level 7 or above oral proficiency in French as per the Québec scale of French proficiency levels for adult immigrants or an equivalent.
They managed to score 596 points or more.
They received a valid job offer outside the jurisdiction of the Montreal Metropolitan Community.
STEP 1: Acquire a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ)
Review the eligibility criteria and confirm your eligibility for the Quebec RSWP. Create an EOI profile on the official immigration portal of Quebec (Arrima) and fill in information related to your education, professional experience, language proficiency, among other details. You may receive an invitation for applying for CSQ based on your EOI.
STEP 2: CSQ Application Submission
Assemble all necessary documents, including ID proofs, educational certifications, work experience letters, language test outcomes, and proof of funds. Fill in the CSQ application form, attach the documents, pay the required fees, and submit your application.
STEP 3: Await CSQ Approval
Your application will be reviewed by the Quebec immigration authorities which may take several months. Upon approval, you will receive a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ), symbolizing Quebec's choice of you for PR.
STEP 4: Submit Canada PR Application to IRCC
Once the CSQ is in hand, apply for Canada PR with the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) department. Set up an online account on the IRCC website, fill in the PR application form, upload the necessary documents, and pay the requisite PR processing fees.
STEP 5: Medical Assessment and Background Verification
IRCC will mandate a medical examination to verify your health status. A comprehensive background check will be performed to check your criminal history.
STEP 6: Await PR Decision
Canada PR application processing time varies, so remain patient during this period. A successful application will result in a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and a PR visa.
STEP 7: Activate PR Status and Travel to Canada
Once you have your COPR and PR visa, travel to Canada before the visa expires and become a permanent resident. Once in Canada, apply for your Permanent Resident Card, the official proof of your PR status.
Keep in mind that the Quebec draw's process and prerequisites can shift, hence it's critical to visit Quebec Immigration and IRCC's official websites to access the most current details prior to submitting your application.
