The New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) held a new invitation session for Express Entry participants in June 2023.
The latest New Brunswick draw, which took place in July 2023, delivered Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to a total of 121 individuals. These were distributed among the three NBPNP Express Entry pathways: the NB Employment Connection, the NB Student Connection, and the NB Occupations in Demand Connection.
The NBPNP regularly sifts through the Express Entry pool managed by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in search of candidates who meet the criteria for one of the province's streams. The penultimate NB Express Entry stream draw took place in May and saw 93 invitations issued to qualifying individuals in the federal Express Entry pool. The specifics of the most recent invitation round are as follows.
Recent New Brunswick Draw Invitations - June
NB Employment Connection: 28 Invitations
NB Student Connection: 64 Invitations
NB Occupations in Demand Connection: 29 Invitations
The scale and regularity of the draws hinge on the backlog of applications at the NBPNP. Generally, the program holds draws monthly, although there can be exceptions. The upcoming New Brunswick draw dates are not published in advance.
Upon receipt of an ITA, candidates are given 45 days to submit a fully completed application to the NBPNP. If the application receives approval, the province nominates the applicant for Canada PR, and the nominee has 30 days to accept the nomination via their Federal Express Entry account.
NB Express Entry Requirements
To qualify for the NB Express Entry stream, applicants must adhere to certain criteria at each phase of the process: registration, EOI, application, and final decision. The general eligibility requirements are as follows:
Submit an Express Entry Profile featuring a valid Federal Express Entry Profile Number and a Job Seeker Validation Code.
Have a current address and job in New Brunswick, with an employment letter from the employer.
Work in a position that corresponds with NOC Level 0, A, or B (TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3).
Hold a valid Canadian Work Permit.
Present valid language test scores (IELTS, CELPIP, or TEF Canada) with marks equivalent to CLB 7 across all four language competencies.
Submit a valid Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) testifying to at least the equivalent of a Canadian High School diploma. The NBPNP offers an array of pathways for immigrants to secure Canadian permanent residency and contribute to the province's economic growth. These pathways, each with unique requirements and criteria, include the Express Entry Labor Market Stream, Skilled Worker Employer Support Stream, Entrepreneurial Stream, Post-Graduate Entrepreneurial Stream, and the Atlantic Immigration Pilot Program.
Among these, the NB Express Entry pathway is known to be highly competitive. Therefore, it is crucial for applicants to closely review the pathway's requirements and ensure their application is complete and accurate to improve the chances of securing a provincial nomination.
