Key Details Of Australia Visa Update
The Australian Ministry of the Interior has recently reported a significant reduction in waiting times for student visas, now averaging just 16 days. The move follows substantial visa holdups experienced by many primary education centers in 2022, a result of increased applications amid the recovery following the global pandemic.
"Exciting update for overseas students! Efforts and resources dedicated by the Australian Government since 2022 have led to considerable shortening in typical visa processing durations. Now, it takes just around 16 days for a student visa to be processed," the Australian authorities conveyed via a LinkedIn message.
This leap forward was facilitated by a $48.1 million budgetary provision spanning 12 months, combined with several initiatives targeting the visa lag. As per information, a workforce of approximately 600 was inducted from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, who are presently assisting with temporary and migration visa tasks. Tackling the current visa application backlog is a top agenda for the government.
Nevertheless, in light of these promising figures, the Ministry advises prospective students to be diligent in their visa applications. Processing times may still vary due to complex cases, fluctuations in the number of applications and amendments to ministerial guidelines.
To enable a hassle-free visa acquisition experience, the ministry suggests that those student visa seekers outside Australia should lodge their applications a minimum of eight weeks prior to their academic course's initiation. Adopting this forward-thinking strategy will help students sidestep potential holdups, guaranteeing they meet all necessary stipulations before starting their academic journey in Australia.
Financial Proof Now Essential💸
Australia is also set to increase the financial proof requirement for international students, as a measure to efficiently manage the influx of incoming students. From 1 October 2023, student visa claimants must submit proof of AU$24,505 reserves in their finances.
